C. MAYNARD asks the question, “Who is this B. Cumberland?” (SCR Letters, June 16) and to that I say, simply a voter with an opinion.
S. Copley (SCR Letters, June 16) suggests I am struggling with reality and to both I say, it would appear you lack knowledge of the reference to the term “pub test”, what it refers to and how it is applied.
Many a thinking voter will consider the content of the letters of both the above writers and assess merit accordingly. What say both writers to the SCR editorial June 16 about the loss of local homelessness services and the role their respective MPs may have played in that outcome?
If a political party could be guaranteed 30 to 50 per cent of the vote of the customers in every pub they would take it every day of the week so tread carefully with your seemingly adverse references to those who frequent these establishments.
Take note, Fiona Phillips, because this is the tut-tut brigade of conservative politics having their say and a further indication as to why your polls are increasing as a result of the support of the pub test brigade.
