AFTER receiving information about a planned doof (rave party) at Newee Creek last Friday night, police set up patrols, RBT and searches in the area of Richards Ln and Newee Creek Rd.
Between 3pm and 8 o’clock police utilised the dog squad in conducting searches of people and their vehicles.
They searched around 50 vehicles and their occupants, and detected three juveniles in possession of small amounts of cannabis. The juveniles were subsequently cautioned.
Later the same evening, further police attended the party and spoke to the organisers who were warned about the noise and told the party was to cease.
Police again attended the premises where the party was being held about 7am on Saturday and issued a noise abatement direction to the occupants and the music was turned off.
n Before the event, police approached the organisers of the party and warned them of certain issues that would arise from holding such a party.
Police also approached Nambucca Shire Council and informed them.
Council staff prepared notices and served them on the organisers warning them of fines that could be imposed for holding such a party and informed them it was illegal to do so.
