Mary Harris (left) and Jenny Grant keep their ears warm during a winter’s day on the Robe Golf Course.

The winner of the Monthly Medal was Jenny Gilkes with a net 76.

Jenny received half a dozen bottles of wine. Jenny always says that anyone who plays with her will win but this time she was the winner for a change. Well done Jenny.

The runner-up was Di Stuart on a count back from Binge Rivaz with net 77.

Nearest the pin on the fourth in two was Di Stuart and Binge was nearest the pin on the 16th.

The nine hole competition was won by Jeanette Mort with 16 points and runner-up was Rosemary Williams with 14 points.

There was a lovely celebration of a birthday with chocolate cake and lots of cream.

Carol Seymour was the recipient and one only gets this treatment when the birthday has an “0” in the day.

Well done Carol congratulations turning **0.

There were 10 players out in very chilly weather last weekend. The wind was straight off the South Pole.

The competition of the day was stableford in the 18 holes.

The winner once again was Jeanette Lea with 32 points with Di Stuart runner-up on 31 points on a count back from Sally Emery also on 31 points. Jeanette was nearest the pin on the fourth in two and Binge Rivaz was nearest the pin on the 16th.

The nine hole competition was won by Margie McKay with 14 points and the runner-up was Jenny Grant with 13 points.

Ruth Gerlach was nearest the pin on the 14th in two.

Once again there was target practice on one of our players who seems to always be just were the balls are heading and it is certainly were they should not be heading.

It was decided that the last bruises she had are all cleared up now and it was time she got another one. A bit unfair really.

As the wind was off the pole those players who play in a buggy needed to wear some warm headwear – they should have had polar bear hats, not Lions hats.

Six players went to Lucindale consisting of two teams to represent Robe at the Cudmore Salver.

Well done for representing Robe as we all know it is an “honour” to be selected.
