Warm up at Sails

SAILS at Robe is back with its popular theme nights.

Theme nights are back at Sails at Robe, last year staff Tegan Allwright (left), Paul Bobridge and Katie-Anne Parkes got into the South American mood. This Friday’s theme “street food from around the world” – make sure you book your table.

Throughout winter the team at Sails will be putting together feasts to get you warmed up.

The first of five winter nights is this Friday with the theme “street food from around the world”.

The inspiration for this night comes from owners Adam Brooks and Anna Heffernan’s travels and from the idea of Street Adelaide.

“The idea is to share a lot of the food,” Adam said.

The theme nights will be similar to their past degustation menus.

The next winter night will be on July 4 with the theme “food to get you in the mood”.

The nights are spread out over the next three months, so people can come to more than one.

“We wanted to spread them out a bit more this time,” Adam said.

“A lot of work goes into these nights and we wanted to give everyone the best chance to come along.”

On July 25 there will be an “east meets west fusion” theme with Australian and Asian influences.

August 15 will bring a European experience and August 29 will finish up the winter nights with “sweet vs savoury”.

The team at Sails undertake research and a lot of experimenting leading up to their theme nights.

“We enjoy doing something different in the quieter months,” Adam said.

“It is also a good way for my apprentices to develop their skills.”

Come as a couple, come with some friends or come as a table of 10 – bookings as essential.

Meals are $55 per person, with suggestions of wine, beer and juices to go with some dishes.

Or try the Sails cocktails at $10 each.

Sails at Robe is also up for a 2014 Regional Award, nominations close on Monday.

The 2014 regional awards presentation evening for the Limestone Coast region will be held at the Barn Palais, Mount Gambier, on October 24.
